Tasting - Mapreco Vinho Verde Rose 2015 - Apr. 7, 2016
Name: Mapreco Vinho Verde Rose 2015
Variety: Vihno Verde
Country: Vihno Verde, Portugal
Year: 2015
Price: $10
Winery Review: The cherry color reveals a slightly fizzy wine that is a very fruitful rosé made from the traditional vinho verde white grapes. Adding a splash of red to offer flavors with notes of strawberry, cherry and berries. A delightful twist on the original.
My Review: This actually a great surprise to me! It had strange color at first though. The rose was really pale and just plain strange. But the nose had this interesting smell of papaya, pear and slight hints of apricot. It had a nice mid body that was enjoyable. This is one of the few light wines that I have bought this semester and it deserved that buy for sure. Would recommend!
