Tasting - Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2013 - Mar. 3, 2016
Name: Grand Cru Pinot Noir
Variety: Pinot Nior
Country: California, USA
Year: 2013
Price: $6.95
Winery Review: This ruby-colored wine has aromas of raspberry, cherry and a hint of vanilla. Flavors of cherry and plum lead to a soft velvety finish. This wine can be enjoyed by itself. It is also an excellent accompaniment with Brie, goat cheese and smoked salmon. Lamb shanks and pork tenderloin are a favorite main dishes to pair with this wine. (The Vintage Cellar)
My Review: Holy Sh*t! This wine blew away!! The nose on this wine was just incredible. By far my favorite nose this whole semester! It had a very distinct smell of pina colada, coco, banana and vanilla. The craziest I've ever smelled a red wine before. The taste on the other end is completely different and just on the other end of the spectrum. A nice cherry and blackberry overtakes the pallet with a light sweet but dry and slightly tart finish. I was just overwhelmed by this wine and would definitely recommend this bottle. Of course I bought this to enjoy at home with some jazz and friends.
