Name: Aveleda Praia Vinho Verde
Variety: Arinto, Loureiro, Trajadura, and Azal
Country: Vinho Verde, Portugal
Year: 2013
Price: $8.95
Winery Review:
A
blend of 40% Arinto, 30% Loureiro, 20% Trajadura and 10% Azal. Full of fruit, a lasting
peach flavor targeted with laserlike acidity through the finish. It has the
bite of salty ocean air and a lot of zing. For langoustines. (92 pts, Wine & Spirits)
My Review: The great Vinho Verde is back for another try. In this instance I wasn't a fan. It smelled grassy and a peachy. There wasn't much complexity. The taste was clean and clear cut but no real exciting elements were found in my pallet. I would give this a pass for my pallet. I really don't understand how this wine has such a good score on Wine & Spirits.
