Tasting - Crane Lake Riesling 2014 - Mar. 24, 2016

Name:Crane Lake Riesling
Variety: Riesling
Country: California
Year: 2014
Price: $5.95

Winery Review:
The trademark German red grape varietal Dornfelder has a lovely purity of soft red berry fruit. Integrated soft tannins combined with forward fruit flavors make for a perfectly balanced everyday sipping wine.
Great with grilled red meat, sausage and chicken. Best served slightly chilled. (The Vintage Cellar)

My Review: This wine had a nice honey smell and it was honestly the only real smell I could get. The actual wine was slightly sweet but not the overpowering type. The body was light. This might be appealing to a lot of other people but not in my case.

Tasting - Crane Lake Shiraz 2013 - Mar. 24, 2016

Name:Crane Lake Shiraz
Variety: Shiraz
Country: California
Year: 2013
Price: $5.95

Winery Review:
Beautiful ruby appearance, with blackberry and pepper notes. Tannins and fruit marry well for a soft finish. This wine pairs well with sharp cheddar cheese and hazelnuts. Also try it along with roast lamb at Easter time, veal marsala, or grilled salmon. (The Vintage Cellar)

My Review: This was one funky ass wine. It smelled like pure oysters mixed with seafood and a little bit of sock. I was taken back by it pretty strongly. The taste was very acidic and dry. There was a taste of blackberry and salty. I would not recommend...

Tasting - Georges Duboeuf Nouveau 2015 - Mar. 24, 2015

Name: Georges Duboeuf Nouveau
Variety: Gamay
Country: Beaujolais, France
Year: 2015
Price: $12

Winery Review:
George Duboeuf is THE king of Beaujolais.  His wines are full of pop, charm and great flavor and his Beaujolais Nouveau is no exception.  A cornucopia of expressive fruit wrapped in an almost-bubblegum-like frame; it is the flagship Nouveau. (The Vintage Cellar)

My Review: This was the better one of the bunch. It had a nice blueberry, raspberry and slight pineapple to my nose. It had the nice mid body enjoyable on its own. Had dry after taste with soft tannins to my taste. I wouldn't necessarily buy it but I don't mind it at all.

Tasting - Maipe Torrontes 2014 - Mar. 24, 2016

Name: Maipe Torrontes
Variety: Torrontes
Country: Mendoza, Argentina
Year: 2014
Price: $14

Winery Review:
The wine has a spring-like nose of fresh white peaches, pears, green apple, green melon and hints of jasmine and rose petals. On the palate, it has a beautiful structure and acidity along with fruit flavors and plenty of body. Well-balanced, this wine displays a pleasant freshness with citrus notes and a long finish. (The Vintage Cellar)

My Review:Again a light pale color that I didn't find too appealing. There was a large nose of apricot and peaches with a slight grassy and woody smell. The wine was very light though. Not very exciting to my pallet. Wouldn't recommend.

Tasting - Tonnino Pinot Grigio 2014 - Mar. 24, 2016

Name: Tonnino Pinot Grigio
Variety: Pinot Grigio
Country: Sicily, Italy
Year: 2014
Price: $14

Winery Review:
Tonnino’s exotic example of Pinot Grigio has a straw to pale gold color. It is fresh and clean on the nose with fruity notes of pear, green apple and white peaches. The palate is true to the nose with a fresh acidity, coriander and lime notes followed by a crisp finish. This wine pairs well with youthful aperitifs, clams or mussels, pastas and risotto dishes. (The Vintage Cellar)

My Review: This wine had a nice light gold color to this wine with a grassy smell to it. The slight peach smell with a little bit of raunchiness that I cant explain. As they say for Sauvignon Blanc, the cat pee smell is present. The taste was light and slightly acidic. Not my favorite wine to drink by itself but i believe it would be great with food.
